SUPPORT OUR OUTREACH CAMPAIGN
AND THE EVERYDAY HEROES IN MAQUILAPOLIS [city of factories]

We are currently fundraising for a major Outreach Campaign for MAQUILAPOLIS [city of factories].  We hope you’ll choose to become part of the campaign by getting involved in screenings and events and/or by making a tax-deductible donation to help make it all happen.

HOW TO DONATE TO THE OUTREACH CAMPAIGN
If you’d like to make a tax-deductible donation to the grassroots Outreach Campaign for MAQUILAPOLIS, there are two ways to do it:

1.  Make your check out to the Film Arts Foundation, our fiscal sponsor.
Be sure to write “The Maquila Project / Outreach Campaign” on the memo line in the lower left of the check. The Film Arts Foundation will send you an acknowlegement letter for tax purposes.
Please mail checks to:
                                   The Maquila Project
                                    433 Louisiana Street
                                    Vallejo, CA  94590

2.  You can also donate on-line, by visiting http://www.filmarts.org/services.php?function=sponsoredproj&projects=fr

HOW TO DONATE TO THE GROUPS FEATURED IN THE FILM
If you’d prefer to donate directly to the groups you saw in the film, you can do that too.

1.  Women’s Rights Advocates (Promotoras por los Derechos de las Mujeres)
When Grupo Factor X closed its doors in 2004, many of the women they had trained decided to form their own group.  The women you saw in MAQUILAPOLIS were all founders of this new women’s and worker’s rights group.
To donate to this group:
Use the same instructions as above, but on the memo line on the check please write “The Maquila Project / for Promotoras,” so we’ll know how to direct the donation.

2.  Chilpancingo Collective for Environmental Justice (Colectivo Chilpancingo pro Justicia Ambiental)
This is the group that fought for the clean-up of the toxic waste site seen in the film.
To donate to this group:
Make check out to "Environmental Health Coalition," and write "Colectivo Chilpancingo" on the memo line in the lower left of the check.  Please include a note telling EHC that this donation is related to a MAQUILAPOLIS event, so they'll know how you learned about the Colectivo. EHC will send you an acknowlegement letter for tax purposes.
Please mail checks to:
                                    Environmental Health Coalition
401 Mile of Cars Way, Suite 310
                                    National City, California 91950

3.  CITTAC (Workers’ Information Center)
This is the organization that helped Carmen with her labor claim against Sanyo.
You can make a non-tax-deductible donation check to CITTAC:
Make check out to “Mexico Solidarity Network,” and write “for CITTAC” on the memo line in the lower left of the check.  Please include a note telling them that this donation is related to a MAQUILAPOLIS event.
Please mail checks to:
